METHODOLOGY

Nature of the Study

This study will be survey type and Quantitive in nature.

Population of the Study

Population is a total aggregate of elements from where sample is selected on the basis of sampling technique and where researcher is interested to conduct research. The Population of the study will comprise of all affected families of the flood in Distract Charsadda.

Sample and Sampling Procedure

The sample can be different types, which will be chosen in a way that best serve the purpose of the study. One type of sample is purposive sampling, which Rubine (1983) explains thus,

Purposive sampling is often used when a great deal of detailed data are required but when time and money permit only a limited number of population elements to be surveyed. In such instances, the researcher relies upon an existing social or psychological understanding of the problem as a basis for choosing the population elements for the sample. (P. 139)

            Sample size for the data will be selected through Krejcie & Morgan table techniques. Target area for data collection will be selected as UC Hesara Yaseenzai at district Charsadda.

Tool for Data Collection

  Structured questionnaire will be prepared for the collection of data from the respondents. The questionnaire would contain close-ended questions. The instrument will be divided into different parts like 1) personal profile of the respondents, 2) household profile; 3) Social impacts of flood 4) psychological impacts of flood 5) destruction of the people. Data Collection Data can be gathered with a structured questionnaire in three ways: by using a written questionnaire, by personal interview, and by telephone (kidder, nd p221). Data Analysis The data analysis in the research project is very much important. In applied research, data analysis and preparation of the final report are two sides of the same coin. (Rubin, 1983. P 379) Data will be analysed using an appropriate test statistics. Different statistical tests will be applied to test the hypothesis.
